Serena & Federer Win 2014 Western And Southern Open

World number one Serena Williams has won the 2014 Western And Southern Open, making it her first Cincinnati Masters title in her career. Williams defeated Serbian player Ana Ivanovic in a 6-4, 6-1 win crowning her her fifth title of the season with a 5-0 finals record. In the women’s doubles competition, Americans Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears won the trophy when Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic retired after the second set with a final score of 6-1, 2-0.
In the men’s competition, Roger Federer was victorious over David Ferrer making it his sixth Western and Southern Open title with a score of 6-3, 1-6, 6-2. The victory makes it Federer’s 80th tour level title of his career. In the men’s doubles competition, Bob and Mike Bryan defeated rising players Jack Sock and Vasek Pospisil in a 6-3, 6-2 win giving the Bryan’s Brothers their 99th victory of their career.
