Prize Money Increase for the 2013 US Open Championship

The prize money for the 2013 US Open Championship has been announced by the USTA. The total purse for the event is a record high of $34,300,000. There is an increase of 37% for the winner, the runner-up, the semi-finalist and the quarterfinalist. The Round of 16 losers will have an increase of 38%, round of 32 and 64 losers will have a 43% increase and round of 128 losers an increase of 39%. The full prize money breakdown:
Winner – $2,600,000
Runner-up – $1,300,000
semifinalist – $650,000
Round of 16 – $165,000
Round of 32 – $93,000
Round of 64 – $53,000
Round of 128 – $32,000
The men’s and women’s doubles will increase 12.7% and the prize money for the qualifying event will have an increase of 37.5% which makes it a total prize of $1,400,000. Wheelchair Competition, the Champions Invitational event and players per diems will be increased also.
