John Isner Takes Home Atlanta Open Trophy
Top-seeded John Isner from the US defeated South African Kevin Anderson at the Atlanta Open on Sunday, July 28, 2013 in a 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 7-6(2) win that took 2 hours and 54 minutes to finish.
“This is a tournament where I could have been out in my first match. I lived on the edge all week, and seemed to come through for the good every time,” Isner said after winning two of three tie breakers. “It feels good to be on the right side.” Isner has won $98,700 from this tournament and his rank will go to number 22.
In Doubles, the title went to France’s Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Igor Sijsling from the Netherlands after defeating Colin Fleming and Jonathan Marray, both from Britain.
